LumiPLEXEL combines radiofrequency technology with fractional micro pins. These pins create minuscule injuries to the skin, stimulating a natural healing response.
Part of this response includes the production of new collagen and elastin fibres which tighten and smooth the skin, resulting in a healthier tone and texture to the skin with reduced fine lines and wrinkles. LumiPLEXEL has been clinically-proven to delivery fractional radiofrequency energy deep into the dermis, which further enhances skin tightening and scar reduction.

Where can LumiPLEXEL treat?
LumiPLEXEL can be used to resurface and instigate collagen renewal; it's most commonly used on the face, neck, abdomen, back and legs/buttocks. It is delicate enough to use around the eye area. Emily Louise Beauty can also treat hands, elbows and knees with LumiPLEXEL.
How does LumiPLEXEL Work?
LumiPLEXEL is a fractional skin treatment delivers radiofrequency energy to the skin. The needles on the device penetrate the skin at specific depths between 0.5 -2mm, to deliver the heating energy to the dermis. This is clinically proven to stimulate collagen contraction and the production of new collagen and elastin, which tightens the skin.
How do I know I am suitable for LumiPLEXEL?
As this treatment is non-surgical, most people with ageing skin will benefit from the treatment. Can LumiPLEXEL be used for Scarring?
LumiPLEXEL is one of a multitude of technologies we use to treat scarring, including acne scars. A bespoke treatment plan will be put together at consultation between you and one of our practitioners.
What happens during the LumiPLEXEL treatment?
A topical anaesthetic may applied to your skin if required, however the LumiPLEXEL includes a contact cool handpiece to minimise client discomfort and minimise the use of Topical Anaesthetic. The hand-held device will then be placed over the areas of concern and you may feel some tingling and heating of the skin. The treatment will take approximately 30 minutes (without numbing time)
Does LumiPLEXEL Hurt?
As a topical anaesthetic and the contact cooling handpiece is used prior to treatment, LumiPLEXEL should not be painful. However, you may experience some sensation such as a pricking feeling or warming of the skin, though any discomfort will be managed with the numbing cream or contact cooling.
Is There any downtime with LumiPLEXEL?
As LumiPLEXEL is a non-surgical procedure you will experience minimal downtime. It is normal however to have red, shiny skin after the treatment for around 5 days. You may also notice that your skin may peel during this time.
For the first few days after the procedure, you will need to avoid strong sunlight and wear a high factor SPF as well as a good quality moisturiser. Avoid applying makeup the day of your procedure and after this, a good mineral makeup is advised.
When will i see results with LumiPLEXEL and how long do they last?
Visible results seen within days continue to improve over a period of months, as new collagen forms deep within your skin. These results are permanent and can last years, but of course your renewed collagen will eventually break down again. Your skin specialist may suggest a course of treatments, depending on your unique and individual skin concerns.
